Ex-Im Bank Communication June 26-2015 The above link contains the full communication from Ex-Im Bank regarding the probable lapse in authorization on July 1.  The essentials are that any approved policies and loan guarantees will continue as approved.  New approvals cannot be made during the lapse. Claims will continue to be considered, monthly reports of sales will be processed as normal.

California’s Governor Brown Signs Legislation to Streamline the State’s Export Certificate Program

AB 1400, authored by the Assembly Committee on Jobs, Economic Development and the Economy,  allows California businesses requesting an export document from the Department of Public Health to make the request electronically. The bill would also increase the term of an export document from six months to one year.  Prior to the Governor’s action, the export document was only valid for six months and there was a significant delay in processing times. 12-20-2013 update: The Export Import Bank of the United States has updated the pilot direct-loan program  (Global Credit Express Loan) for small businesses.   Loans for up to $500,000 for a term of either six months or one year are available.  Proceeds can be used for working capital requirements to support direct exports of U.S.-made goods.  ExIm bank will make a loan directly to approved borrowers. As of midnight, October 1, 2013, the US Government has shut down non-essential functions.  This includes the Export Import Bank of the United States. During the shut down,  the Export Import Bank of the United States will be closed. While ExIm Bank is closed, credit insurance policies that are approved will remain in force, but Discretionary Credit Limit authority is suspended.  Named buyer cover (Special Buyer Credit Limits) and credit limits under single buyer cover remain in effect.
